Arthur Jongewaard was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and loved film from an early age. He and his grandfather spent many summer afternoons building models of their favorite movies in his grandfather’s workshop, sparking Arthur’s lifelong interest in film design.
Arthur attended the University of Iowa, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Cinema and Comparative Literature. Upon graduation, he moved to Chicago and interned at Chicago Filmmakers. Two years later, Arthur moved to New York City and began working in the film industry. He joined United Scenic Artists local 829 in 2011 and has worked as an Art Department Coordinator, Assistant Art Director, Art Director and Production Designer. He has taken additional course work at Pratt Institute and the New York School of Interior Design. Arthur is a contributing member of BAM and an active member of the Prospect Park Alliance. He currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.
